Ben works across the unglamorous middle of a company: deciding what to build, choosing the tech stack, running R&D, creating the website and internal systems, structuring contracts, hiring the team, and turning delivery into a repeatable operation. That approach helped SideQuest Media scale to 80+ contractors across six continents.
Ben’s evangelism work combines technical fluency with a practical explanation of value. At MAQ Software and Microsoft, he led product adoption work across 350+ enterprise and government education accounts in the UK and BENELUX region, influencing programs representing more than three million licensed seats. His AI work follows the same pattern: show what is possible, identify where it belongs, and help people adopt it with clear expectations.
Ben maps how work actually moves through a company, finds the handoffs and repeated decisions that consume time, and designs agents around them. The useful version is rarely a chatbot bolted onto a process. It is a bounded system with the right data, tools, instructions, review points, and a person who remains accountable for the outcome.
Ben builds websites, internal applications, data tools, CRM and CMS systems, and the connective tissue between them. His technical foundation spans JavaScript, Python, PHP, HTML/CSS, cloud compute, analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and Salesforce full-stack development. He starts with the user and the operating constraint, then chooses the smallest stack that can reliably do the job.
Through Outlaw Pepper Co. and independent growing trials, Ben uses controlled cross-pollination, landrace methods, and generations of selection to develop new cultivar candidates. He is looking for plants that do more with a shorter season: tolerate cold, use water well, resist disease, mature earlier, and still produce something worth growing.

Plant breeding is Ben’s long-running field practice. He crosses plants, grows large and varied populations, selects for useful traits, and repeats the work across generations to find genetics that can expand what colder and less forgiving climates can produce.
Established in 2018 as a working label for pepper growing, breeding trials, and the patient development of new cultivar candidates outside ideal greenhouse conditions.
Selected parents are crossed to combine useful traits. Their descendants are grown, compared, and narrowed over multiple generations rather than judged from a single interesting fruit.
Genetically varied populations are allowed to meet local conditions. The plants that perform best contribute to the next generation, gradually adapting the population to place.
What he is selecting for
The target is not novelty by itself. Ben’s trials look for cold hardiness, earlier maturity, reliable production during short seasons, drought tolerance, disease resistance, and fruit quality worth preserving.
Promising plants become lines. Lines are tested again. Stable, useful combinations become candidates for entirely new cultivars.
